ABOUT THE MUSIC

Curious about the background music? The name of the sample song is Conquest of Paradise and was originally featured in the movie 1492. It was written by the Greek composer, Vangelis, who is best known for his haunting theme for the movie Chariots of Fire.

The Ten Tenors later recorded Conquest of Paradise and it is their stirring rendition that provides the musical backdrop for the World Animal Court™.

The powerfulness of the music is reason enough for it to be suitable for Judge Leo’s theme, but it is appropriate in another way as well. The lyrics are written in an invented musical language known as “word painting” - a “psuedo” Latin. It only seems right that these vocals, which cannot truly be translated, should represent the animals in need of a voice.

The full version by the Ten Tenors is available from Rhino Records.
